Hi, I�m not sure how scrollWidth is or should be defined, but maybe the "content width" refers to the width of the content area, as defined in the box model: http://www.w3.org/TR/CSS21/box.html#box-dimensions In that case, it is the used or actual value of the 'width' property (assuming 'box-sizing: content-box') and does not depend on the element�s children.
